HISTORY Vlachos Bros S.A. was founded in 1995 by Nicholas and Dimitris Vlachos in response to an increasing demand for flexible packaging converters adopting a scientific approach. Based on the specialization of the two co-founders, the company soon created a strong customer base and is the fastest growing flexible packaging converter in Greece, boasting an average annual growth rate of over 30% and exporting more than 60% of its production. In January 1999 the company was certified according to ISO 9001 by TÜV Germany. Recently, in line with the international trend for globalisation and strategic partnerships, the company succeeded in attracting two leading packaging companies to participate in its capital stock;  “Flexopack S.A.”, a leading plastic film producer and “Paperpack Tsoukarides S.A.”, the biggest paper packaging and paper box producer in Greece. The resulting capital increase was almost entirely invested in production equipment, which doubled the production capacity of the company. Vlachos Bros S.A.’s modern production facilities are conveniently located close to the International Airport of Athens.

APPLICATIONS

Vlachos Bros S.A. converts plastic film such as polypropylene, polyethylene, PET, PVC, polyamide, alufoil, paper and board as well as special multilayer films, to produce printed and/or laminated structures for the following applications:
 

• Films for vertical (VFFS) and horizontal (HFFS) packaging machines.
• Films for vertical (VFFS) packaging machines for snacks etc., with high oxygen and UV barriers.
• Laminates suitable for boiling, pasteurisation and sterilization.
• Top webs for “Multivac” type machines.
• Bottom webs for thermoforming.
• Films and prefabricated pouches for vacuum packaging.
• Special films for modified atmosphere packaging.
• Antifog films for refrigeration and deep freezing.
• Printed and/or laminated paper and board.
